“Petey and I have experienced many adventures together. I hope his story will inspire viewers to reflect on which values truly matter in life.”
Petr Jochec
“I made this film to help all the anonymous parents in difficult life situations and to prompt the public to understand the life we live.”
Vanessa Jochecová
“I’m glad this film was made because it tackles a topic that isn’t discussed much. It shows the distressing situations in families with disabled children and the emotions that run through such circumstances. I hope the film will help families facing the same challenges—that they realize they’re not alone and that someone will always help them.”
Jan Bodnár
Producer
“For me personally, the film is above all a unique probe into the lives of everyday heroes who do not hesitate to sacrifice much for the care of their loved ones—and on whose shoulders our society often stands without realizing it. The story of Petr Jochec and his family captured my heart from the very beginning, and I hope it finds its way to as many viewers as possible. Especially in today’s often alienated and lonely times, it can give us all much-needed hope.”

Sound
“Although Petr Jochec Sr. doesn’t belong to the Marvel or DC universes, I am convinced that he is a true superhero with abilities I admired every time we met.”

"The material of What About Petey caught my attention from the first time I saw it, not only because of its strong subject matter, but also because of the way it was shot. The result for me is a sincere, loving but also painful film that very sensitively captures the essence of parenthood, that is, all the joys, fears but also the exhaustion that it brings with it. At the same time, I think the film is important because it highlights an issue that may be unfamiliar to many people."

Music
“At times almost meditative, the documentary What About Petey? best captures the word ‘authenticity’ for me. The film moves against the current of accelerated modern life and tells of the true heroism of ordinary people.”
Alena Müllerová
Creative Producer at Czech Television
"I work as a creative producer at Czech Television, but I also live the role of an informal caregiver - I take care of my son with a disability. So I meet many parents, social workers and therapists and consider them to be true heroes. The story of Mr. Jochec, who takes care of his son with low-functioning autism, is very close to me. The director of the documentary also has experience as a personal assistant to Petey, which adds authenticity to the film. I appreciate that the producer conceived the film and the related campaign comprehensively and in cooperation with Nautis. It is projects like this that make sense to me."

"Martin Trabalík našel a natočil příběh, který bourá stereotypy o tom, kdo má pečovat. Ovdovělý táta se stará o dospívajícího syna s autismem, a ukazuje, že péče není ženská ani mužská, ale lidská. Pro mě je to především mnohovrstevnatá love story na pozadí selhávající sociální politiky státu i obcí. Láska může takové peripetie překonat, ale je opravdu nutné nechávat toho na bedrech podobných rodin tolik?"
